TOP 10 INNOVATIONS: WHAT'S HAPPENING AND WHAT MIGHT BE HAPPENING SOON?

What would your 2018 top 10 innovations in person-centred dementia care be? This workshop will focus on what are said to be recent innovations in the care of persons with dementia (for example intergenerational activities, singing, music, dementia friendly projects). It will highlight the key evidence behind each of the innovations and we will consider what you might need to be preparing to introduce in your setting. It will also explore innovations that are about to become more mainstream and consider what impact they may have on persons living with dementia.

This workshop will enable participants to gain a better understanding of the assessment and management of pain, nutrition and hydration in palliative care for people with dementia. The first half of this workshop will comprise of a overview of the management and assessment of pain and the management of hydration and nutrition. The second half will focus on case studies working through nutritional and pain screening/assessment tools.
